WHY ONBOARD EDGE COMPUTE MATTERS

The water does not come with dependable connectivity.

Processing stays onboard, close to the live camera view. That allows BoatVision to operate without the internet, respond with very low latency, and avoid sending routine footage to the cloud for core analysis.

PERSON-IN-WATER EVALUATION

A high-priority scenario requires more than finding a person-shaped object.

BoatVision evaluates person, water, scene, and tracking context before presenting the strongest alert. Detection is never guaranteed and can be affected by visibility, distance, camera view, sea state, and other conditions.

  • It does not steer or control the boat.
  • It does not choose a navigation maneuver.
  • It does not replace the captain or a proper lookout.
  • It does not guarantee detection or collision avoidance.
  • It does not replace radar, AIS, charts, depth instruments, or required equipment.
  • It does not make compliance decisions under navigation rules.
